Lord, I believe; help Thou my unbelief.
Perhaps we come here carrying questions, fears, loneliness, shame, disappointment, confusion — or simply a longing to know whether God is really there and whether He really Loves us.
We don’t need to hide any of it.
Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
We can bring to Him what is heavy.
God Loves us.
He has ultimate Power — and for the moment He constrains that Power through Love.
Through Christ, we have access to the Father.
Through the Holy Spirit, God is present within us and with us.
And so we can come just as we are.
We don’t have to understand everything before we come.
We don’t have to make ourselves worthy.
We can simply begin to open ourselves to His Love.
As we bring what is real to Him, day by day, moment by moment, His Light begins to shine into our dark places.
Sometimes He strengthens something we thought was weak or worthless. Sometimes He turns our worldly thinking upside down and shows us that what we saw as failure, weakness or loss can become a place where His Grace is at work - and we see 'success' as a step in a process of growth and change, not an end in itself.
Slowly, we begin to see differently — and be different.
Our life grows in Grace — deeper, wider, and increasingly rooted in humility.
Sometimes we discover that what we thought was strength has become control. Sometimes pride has been protecting a deeper hurt. Sometimes fear keeps us from surrendering to the very thing we most long to receive.
When we see these things, we don’t need to condemn ourselves, but we do not want to stay in a state of being without God. We can turn again towards Him, sorry for denying His Love.
That turning is repentance.
Repentance is not earning His Love. It is turning towards the Love that is already there — letting go of what we have been clinging to, so that we can receive more fully the Love, Peace and Life He is continually offering. In Greek they call it 'metanoia' a turning from the old to the new.
And so we begin again:
Lord, I believe; help Thou my unbelief.
Perhaps there is something you would like to bring into the Light.
What is troubling you? What are you finding difficult to trust? What are you longing to let go of?
We are beginning to cultivate some paths through the garden. They will lead to reflections, Scripture, stories, videos and other resources — not to lead you into every dark alley, but towards the Light.
Below you will find some Posts on the site which are related to 'Fear' - but much more concerned with how we become focussed on Living in Faith and seeking God's Love which casts out all fear. So they may challenge your false identity and thinking by seeking to bring Light and Life rather than focussing on the defeat that fear brings.. Notice if you find yourself rejecting the Love embedded in God's work. Don't condemn yourself - God doesn't, but open your Heart door and simply say, Lord I believe, help Thou my unbelief.
A SIMPLE SELECTION OF POSTS ARE LISTED BELOW.
Click on one (at a time) that you would like to read.... See the guidance below the list.
Find a Journal and be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to 'work' with you and serve you. Choose whichever post appeals to you and click on it. As you read, listen in your heart to what 'strikes' you - excites you as 'true' or brings you to recognise unspoken feelings within. Be patient and know that God is God. Every prayer, or 'knocking' and 'Asking' is like a surrender of your will to discover more of His Way in your life. He loves you. When you are ready to let go of the blogs for now -embrace these Words of Life and Hope.
