The Journey of Faith, Hope and Love

Christ Makes All Things New

Welcome - wherever you are on your journey of faith. Below is a short introduction to the content and purpose of this page... so you are invited increasingly to Love God with all you are because He'first loved yoy.   All those of us who have suffered neglect and abuse as children or abandonment by those who we expected to be loved and cared by, may find that they are struggling to either receive or believe in God's Love, or to be willing to do His Will.  On these pages - we acknowledge this loss so please be open to God about your feelings.

Firstly,  God knows the state of your heart, and Secondly, once we realise our rebellion, fear, lack of trust, we can begin to pray that He help us and heal us - even with the prayer, 'Lord I believe, Help Thou my unbelief.'

I could fill a book with the ways He built me in love, and even carried me for Him through my working life!  But when I needed to face my 'inner being' and the trials of my childhood, I needed to face my pains and losses, but I could only do that WITH faith in Christ.  In order to 'grow' in faith and love, we need to own the darkness to welcome the Light, Love, Hope, Truth, Compassion to restore us in LIFE in Christ.   Forgiveness and Hope replace bitterness, anger, selfishness and despair......and knowledge of the Love and Wisdom of God replace despair, death and hopelessness.   All this has two roots - One the Love of God that passes all understanding; and Two - our Will!  Jesus says to some people who came to Him, 'Do you want to be healed?'    Without our will to allow Him in to our locked doors, He can do nothing...because He wants us to Love Him with our 'free-will.'  All we need to do day by day - is say 'Lord I need you - I give you my will for today and give you free entry to purify and heal me, direct and enable me, to live for You.'   And He will- and does.

A summary of the 'LIFE'  of this page:   Translating 'words' into Life, Hope - in fact 'Faith, hope and Love'

Christ Makes All Things New

The journey of faith, hope and love is not about becoming a better version of ourselves by our own effort. It is about allowing Christ to make all things new.

  • Faith — learning to trust God, even when we cannot yet see where the journey is leading.
  • Hope — discovering that darkness, loss and brokenness do not have the final word. God is always at work, bringing new life... so we trust in things not seen.
  • Love — receiving God’s love and allowing that love to reshape how we see ourselves, God and one another.
  • Surrender — letting go of our need to control the outcome and learning to place our lives into God’s hands.
  • Christ makes all things new — the transformation is God’s work in us. We are invited to participate by trusting, listening and responding to the Holy Spirit.
  • The journey is ongoing — there is no need to have everything worked out. We can take the next step in faith, knowing that Christ is with us.
  • The invitation — to bring our real lives into the presence of God: the places of joy, pain, fear, hope and longing. Nothing is outside His reach.

This is a journey from merely knowing about God to discovering, in the reality of our own lives, that Christ is making all things new and God the Father holds us in the 'palm of His hand'.

In this reflection we continue to explore the journey of faith, hope and love — not as something we achieve by our own strength, but as a life being remade in Christ.

There are places where we may feel lost, wounded, uncertain or simply unable to see the way ahead.

Yet Christ meets us there.

He does not ask us to have everything sorted before we come to Him. He invites us to trust Him, to listen, and to discover that His Love is already at work.

Christ Makes All Things New - Zoom meetings for questions and open-ness to learn and grow in Love.....

Below is a clip from the Zoom meeting of Friday 11th September, 2026 -

This clip is focussed on the Jesus Prayer : 'Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me/us.' Repeated while listening in your heart - till peace is restored or for a set period of time.

A SUMMARY OF THE WHOLE MEETING IS PASTED BELOW THE CLIP.

The Whole Video in a Nutshell.

This is the summary of the ways we can be helped to Love God and be loved by God mentiioned in the Video:

Key Outcomes
The session focused on the spiritual journey of overcoming pain and "the dark night of the soul" through trust in Christ and the practice of surrender .

Participants were encouraged to use specific prayer tools and physiological shifts to move from a state of "fight or flight" to a state of openness and healing.
Spiritual Guidance and Principles
The Power of Surrender: True healing and righteousness are achieved by surrendering one's will to God, as humans cannot achieve eg.total patience or love on their own - but doing this in awareness each moment/day becomes more effective as the Holy Spirit enables us to stay 'Present' so we can see our self-will at work preventing us living in the Love, Grace and Peace of Christ.
Overcoming Trauma: Traumatic childhood experiences can damage the "will for good," requiring a repetitive prayer of willingness ("willing to be willing") to realign with God's will - one step - one day at a time.
Perspective on Pain: Pain should be acknowledged and "owned" rather than avoided; e.g. by praying for others who suffer similarly: individuals can thus open themselves to be 'purified' of their own pain by praying for others.
Non-Judgement: Adopting the perspective that one could have been a "murderer"  (or any other 'sin') if it wasn't for the grace of God,  prevents judgemental attitudes toward others .
Practical Tools for Healing
Physiological Shift:    Using praise, thanksgiving, and singing to move the body and conscious awareness from the sympathetic nervous system (fight/flight/freeze/fawn) to the parasympathetic nervous system, which enables receiving and releasing and TRUST in God the Father, and Christ. This is using conscious action to change our subconscious state..... ANd takes away the sense of powerlessness.
Physical Anchors:    Using a "holding cross" or wearing a cross as a tangible reminder of Christ's authority and a place to symbolically deposit burdens .
The Jesus Prayer:   Utilizing the "Jesus Prayer" as a tool for protection and for bringing the Spirit of Christ into tense or vulnerable situations.
Scriptural Study: Recommended reading of Habakkuk and Job to find strength during "bleak" or "desert" times when life seems unfruitful ....'Yet I will trust in the God of my Salvation'.
Individual Support and Intercessions
G: Shared that he lost his job recently; the group committed to praying for his guidance and strength .
M.L: Discussed feeling exhausted and lacking strength; encouraged to open her heart to receive grace even when unable to move.
Action Items
All: Pray for one another.
Participants: Practice the "helmet of hope" and enter God's presence through praise and thanksgiving.
