Life constantly throws stumbling blocks before us, challenging our integrity and understanding.

I believed I could get a free blog site with Word-press – but because I do not understand all the technological terminology, I did not realise the difference between the provision of the domain (free for one year) and the ‘plan’ that provides me with the means and variety of the gimmicks (sorry- no insult intended) that people use to increase connectivity etc.

This is a good example of the stumbling blocks that come across our/my path. I need to understand that I wanted something for nothing…. so that I could see if I could use the site without having a PhD in websites!! I am essentially an artist/engineer and see building blocks, incrementally growing over time, rather than conceptualise a whole thing. I need to focus on one aspect at a time. I remember when I was doing research, I watched this group of reception children being introduced to maypole dancing for the first time. There were six and seven years olds in the class who had done Maypole dancing in previous years. Having watched a dance the younger children were invited to join in. One little boy readily accepted the invitation and happily bobbed up and down being gently guided where he should go. He had seen what his body should do…though not at that stage what his feet needed to do in order for his body to bob up and down. Another of the boys needed a full concept of what was needed before he joined in at all. So some weeks later he accepted the invitation and skipped and moved according to the dance. We all need time to learn the full picture, but we do it differently. I think I’m still bobbing up and down re blog sites!

Life is full of events, blocks and invitations to new life. Is this blog overcoming my fear of risking life? Of making visible all my human weaknesses, but also my inner strength which gave me courage to persevere even amid indifference to my human needs?

Above all in this blog, I own my unerring faith in Jesus Christ. He is the overcoming one…. He who gives courage, even in apparent death, to persevere and know that Love will find a way. May I find a way forward with this blog.
