This book, Treasures of Darkness, bears witness to the journey of an obedient soul being led by God to ‘listen to her pain’ in an ex-cow-byre hermitage in Wales. The poetry brings to light old trauma pain, held within the context of the love of God the Father, and faith and trust in Christ.
The author invites readers to include their pain in her suffering, and her healing, and thus join movement forward into new integrity. In increasing trust in God and His Spirit, we see the author surrendering old patterns of running away, to accept and embrace all provision, as gift and invitation to love God, Self and others more.
The book includes poetry, narrative, and some commentary as God reveals ‘treasures of darkness’. One reader reflected 'much of it read like a personal book of psalms’ in which 'I was able to see my own pains and frustrations, joys and consolations'.
How does God provide spiritual resources for Marina, that she may be obedient to this call to ‘listen to her pain’?
How does she overcome shame, grief, bitterness, anger and faithlessness in her desire for God’s way and refind true relationship with herself and God?
What would you do? How would you respond?
Will you accept this opportunity to witness God, ‘Carrying His lamb with a broken heart’ through trials, back onto solid ground of true Relationship with God, and within herself, and integration in the Light?
In an era where happiness is heralded as the highest good, it is important to see how pain is more than something to be discarded. Dr Carrier's confrontation with and ultimate acceptance of her own suffering is a guide not just for the 'religious', but contains insights applicable to anyone interested in psychology and spirituality. Only through the love of God can I offer you either the book, or information about it!! God enabled me to understand in this time hidden away, that truly we (women and men) are called to receive the fullness of His Love, and 'Let Your Light Shine' according to His Word and purpose for your life. He is our Light. Christ is our Eternal Life. And the Father loves us in and through Christ, but we need to surrender to that Love. We need to will that all the darkness be purified by the Love and Mercy of Christ to the glory of God the Father. We cannot live for Christ without the Holy Spirit, and a purified and restored soul. Come Lord Jesus. Come Holy Spirit.

June 2022- I write for you, dear Reader, as much as for me, because truly in Christ, we are all One. And those of you who have suffered, particularly as children, are particularly held in God’s Heart though we may not be conscious of it.
Yet we are all children of God, made in His Image, and we have all lost closeness to our Truth, to the Father’s Heart and our willingness to serve and love in humility. I loved the gifts God had given me, and didn’t want my littleness, pain and dependence on the Father, so I lost integrity and the very Essence of my Being. This is why Jesus said that to follow Him, we need to ‘take up our crosses’, which means we need to recognise and own them because they hold the Secrets of Grace and Love, so we can also “become like little children” (Mark 10:15).
It is true that God the Father carried me (and maybe you) through childhood traumas, and provided a living through the Holy Spirit of Truth in the intellect, in Education. But purity of heart was hidden in the broken heart, along with Love. And He had to enable me to accept my brokenness to bring restoration. As was once spoken to me when I was unwilling to experience the pain, ‘If you have a wound, even if the surface is healed, but inside it is unhealed, infected, and causing great damage; you have to go into hospital to get it exposed, purified and healed’.
So pain has to be faced, but with the Great Healer in charge. And He doesn’t make mistakes or make it impossible if we surrender our will daily – to His Will in His Love in humility.

Though I cannot say that I have experienced the extremes of your own life I was able to see my own pains and frustrations, joys and consolations. RS
Wow..I was encouraged to take my pain and blocked-ness to God having seen what HM poured out to God -it being changed by God’s Love to love and self acceptance. And forgiveness- through surrendering to Christs Strength. What a model!

It is a joy to me to be able to offer to trauma/PTSD sufferers,
1. - a 'practical' open door to those who have even a mustard seed of faith, and desire for God;
2. - a way to acknowledge the constant pull away from their Heart and God's Love by the lies and damage to their soul;
3. - vision to find the power of Christ's Cross, forgiveness and resurrection to overcome trauma and the evil that lies behind it;
4. - a turn to the Love of God, and allow the Holy Spirit of Truth to speak and reveal the secrets of the Heart hidden within the Pain.
