Dear Reader,
You may wonder why I'm talking about suffering when we are approaching Christmas and the celebration of the Birth of Christ into the world (at our best) and a time for feasting, (at our lower level). Well dear ones, this is the season called Advent - the preparation time of our hearts as we prepare again to welcome Christ's Incarnation.
We are seeking to re-commit to the Living God through this time of re-assessment of where our lives are. What questions do we need to ask ourselves to root out all 'indifference' to those in need - and our own denial and indifference to our need for God's grace and Truth?
Not everyone has a Spiritual Father or Mother, or even Sister or Brother, with whom to talk and walk the faith journey. So it needs us to pray and to LISTEN to all the ways we have access to our connections with God the Father through the Holy Spirit of Love and Unity..
Humanly speaking Christ was obedient to the Father and did what the Father told Him, or what He saw the Father doing. Have you awareness of that in your own life?
In what ways do you believe you are Living for Christ?
Loving for Christ? and
Dying for Christ?
As I reflect on these questions myself I realise that parts of me that have suffered, are reluctant to face sufferings again, and are guilty of indifference to others who suffer what I suffered. Many would say that I am not indifferent, and certainly the Holy Spirit works through me to provide, bless and love many broken people.
But what do I need to face in terms of isolation and desolation on the Cross, that would help me grow in knowledge of Christ, and Him crucified, which would take away all indifference to the suffering of others, and His suffering in me?
We are after all, asked to 'love God above all, and our neighbour as ourselves.'
I guess I/we have to keep aware of the ways we run away from doing something which requires us to 'go the extra mile' ...needing more prayer and trusting in God the Father.
We need to ask the Holy Spirit to show us those things where we are protecting our 'safety zones' that guard us from the public eye that might judge or condemn the Truth we need to be speaking;
and we need to ask the Lord to shine His Light into all hidden attitudes that condemn our souls to death, and others with us because we are not living for the fullness of who we are called to be.
So this Advent, let us invite the Holy Spirit to cleanse our heart and mind, soul and spirit more fully that truly we may be prepared for the Incarnation of Christ in new ways. Christ, fully human alive in us, we made ready for Divination through Him, that we may bear God the Word into the world and live for the purposes of God. Amen
Right here is the perfect website for anybody who wishes to find out about this topic. You know a whole lot its almost hard to argue with you (not that I personally would want toÖHaHa). You certainly put a new spin on a subject that has been written about for decades. Excellent stuff, just excellent!
